Retail Development

Residents and workers in newly developing neighborhoods need banks, dry cleaners, doctors and dentists, hair salons, restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, and more.  Buchanan Partners has recognized this need and developed much-needed retail centers in and near its commercial office developments. The 47,000 square foot Heritage Hunt Retail Center complements the 208,000 square feet of planned and completed office and office condo space at Buchanan’s Heritage Hunt Commercial Center. The Dulles 606 Retail Center will provide essential services to this important commercial corridor serving Washington Dulles International Airport along with tens of thousands of households. Buchanan’s largest retail development to date is planned for Arcola Center. On the eastern portion of the site near the Loudoun County Parkway, Arcola Center will feature a “lifestyle retail center” that includes both “big-box” and “medium-box” stores. To the west of this center will be Main Street, lined with approximately 100,000 square feet of smaller in-line shops and restaurants with offices on the second floor, low-rise traditional office buildings, and plazas for outdoor dining and congregating.
