Buchanan Partners entered D.C.’s thriving urban redevelopment scene with its acquisition of a 5.5-acre site adjacent to intersection of Michigan Avenue and Irving Streets, NE. It is planned as a mixed-use, multi-phase project comprising hotel, residential, retail and possibly office uses. The first phase, a combined Marriott Residence Inn and Marriott Courtyard hotel, is expected to break ground in early 2019.

Buchanan Partners is the developer of Heritage Marketplace, a retail center located within Heritage Hunt Commercial Park. It is anchored by a 53,000 SF Harris Teeter grocery store which opened in 2015. Other tenants include 7-Eleven, Baskin Robbins, Little Bull Run Dental, and Hunan Café. The center’s final 10,000 SF of inline space will break ground mid-2018.

This 53,000 SF of Class A condominium office space within Heritage Hunt Commercial Park is located near the I-66 and Route 29 interchange. Glenmont Metrocenter is a 30-acre project located immediately adjacent to the Glenmont Metro Station. The project is zoned to include up to 1,550 residential units and 90,000 SF of retail space, occurring in multiple phases. The first Phase was sold to Winchester Homes in 2015, offers 171 townhomes, which are now for sale. This 18-acre parcel located at the intersection of Evergreen Mills Road and Loudoun County Parkway includes a 101,000 SF self-storage facility managed by CubeSmart. A Sheetz convenience store is anticipated to open in 2018. Buchanan Partners is currently rezoning the land to allow for additional retail uses including a grocery store, restaurants and other retail.
